Another magnificent cup win at Kimberley Stadium saw Town move into the semi-finals of the Cornwall Senior Cup. Ian Hodges, who had missed the previous three meetings between the clubs this season, scored the opener and Saltash defender Clark deflected a Karl Turner free kick past his own keeper to give Town a well deserved 2-0 lead at the break.

Hodges made it 3-0 just after half-time with an excellent diving header from another Turner free kick. The Ashes never gave up but there was no way past Jason Chapman as the Famouth defence and Town kept a clean sheet for the third consecutive match.

Falmouth Town’s injury revenged squad pulled off a superb victory at Launceston to complete the double over the league leaders. Town; without captain fantastic Mark Vercesi, Ian Hodges, Dan Magee, Ross Pope,(and Shane White has joined Hicks in leaving the club), fully deserved to take the three points .

Reserve skipper Adam Pryor and striker Nathan McIntosh were drafted into the squad, and Kevin Hill made his second appearance of the season. Add to that new signing Aiden Way at right back and the Town side had an unfamiliar look to it. You wouldn’t have known it though as Falmouth thoroughly deserved the victory.

Karl Turner opened the scoring in the first half, after good work from McIntosh and Drummond, and stand in skipper Matt Drummond completed the scoring on the hour. McIntosh was brought down for a penalty soon after but the less said about Drummo’s penalty the better.

Great win for Town.
