Falmouth Town Reserves (0) 2    St.  Just (0) 0

Paul Murray’s Reserves completed leg one of a possible treble with a deserved victory over St. Just.   It was a match of few openings but Town always looked the better side and broke the deadlock through man of the match Jamie Webb.   The centre half picked a good time to score his first of the season when he headed home a Luke Wort corner to set  Town on their way.  Luke Wort converted an 80th minute penalty to clinch the cup for only the second time in the club’s history.

Well done one and all.

Town’s fine twenty five game unbeaten run came to an end with defeat in this dress rehearsal for Sunday’s League Cup final.     Luke Wort equalised an earlier St. Just effort to make it 1-1 at the break but two late penalties meant the visitors took all three points.

Paul Murray’s team stretched their unbeaten run to a magnificent 25 games with this victory at Holmans SC.  Goal scorers were  Chris Morris, Steve Brewer, and Ben Ambrose.

Town took a tentative step towards the championship with this draw against close challengers St. Agnes.  Burns put the  visitors ahead after twenty minutes  before a well work free kick just before half-time led to Nathan McIntosh smashing a fine equaliser.

Town eased into the Combination League Cup final with the second 4-0 hammering of local rivals Penryn in the space of three months.

Sam Bromley scored the first before Luke Wort killed the game off by half-time with a fantastic brace.    Substitute  Dan Knowles  topped it off with a fourth late on and Paul Murray’s side move on to play St. Just in the Final at Illogan.    The treble dream lives on.

The Reserves stretched their fantastic unbeaten run to 22 games with a close fought victory over a plucky Perranwell.   Jake Harvey scored the all important goal as Town consolidated their position at the head of the table.

Town strengthened their position at the top of the league with a win over bottom placed Penzance in what turned out to be a tough fixture.    The Magpies went ahead from a  twelfth minute corner and came close to doubling the lead shortly afterwards.   By half-time though the home side had turned it around through a Luke Wort double, the second coming from the spot.

Falmouth were more dominant in the second half and forced a string of corners.   The Penzance keeper made a great save from Wort’s angled shot as Town piled on the pressure.     The best chance to seal it came when Jake Harvey; a second half substitute for Nathan McIntosh, was brought down  in the box.    This time though Wort couldn’t beat the Penzance keeper and was again denied his hat-trick.
