Parkway too strong for Town

Falmouth Town 2 Plymouth Parkway 4

High scoring Plymouth Parkway stunned Falmouth with a four goal barrage before  half-time.   Town though were much improved in the second-half and, with a little bit of luck, could have reduced the arrears by more than Rob Wearne’s 75th minute strike as 10 men Parkway were pinned back for long periods.

Neal put the visitors ahead before Wearne equalised but three goals in a 10 minute period from Neal,Martin and Landricombe before the break gave Parkway a commanding 4-1 lead.

No doubt though Town manager Wayne Hughes will be pleased with the way Town fought back in the second-half against the reigning SWPL champions.

Top scorer Rob Wearne came off the bench to head a winner to give Town their second consecutive win on the road.   Former Newquay striker Glen Squires had given the visitors a half-time lead when he converted a 32nd minute penalty kick after a kayne Trevaskis shot had been handled.

Newquay got back in the game just before the hour through Josh Fearon’s cross come shot but Wearne’s 82nd  minute goal saw Town move further away from the bottom of the table.
