Following a morning inspection today’s South West Peninsula Premier Division match against Torpoint Athletic has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
League favourites Plymouth Parkway eventually completed a league double over a hard working Falmouth Town side. It was the visitors who took the lead early on through Rob Wearne but Paul Heveran equalised soon after. Parkway were perhaps a little fortunate to go to the break 2-1 up after Gavin Coulton headed home a Heveran cross.
The home team were in a much more positive frame of mind after the re-start though and quickly went 4-1 up through Ryan Richards and Danny Lewis. Substitute Levi Landricombe made it 5-1 when his first touch of the ball with a fine volley for the goal of the match following a brilliant passing move across the full width of the pitch that involved several players .
Parkway seemed to switch off and lost their rhythm as the rain came pouring down and Falmouth Town created several opportunities before Harry Evans headed home to make it 5-2 . Town then got caught on the break though and Levi raced away to make it 6-2 in the dying seconds of the match.
