Town’s Reserves moved into the League Cup semi finals after this fine win at Enys Parc. Goals came from Ben Ambrose (2), a Luke Wort penalty, and Lawrie McGowan.
Falmouth Town’s injury revenged squad pulled off a superb victory at Launceston to complete the double over the league leaders. Town; without captain fantastic Mark Vercesi, Ian Hodges, Dan Magee, Ross Pope,(and Shane White has joined Hicks in leaving the club), fully deserved to take the three points .
Reserve skipper Adam Pryor and striker Nathan McIntosh were drafted into the squad, and Kevin Hill made his second appearance of the season. Add to that new signing Aiden Way at right back and the Town side had an unfamiliar look to it. You wouldn’t have known it though as Falmouth thoroughly deserved the victory.
Karl Turner opened the scoring in the first half, after good work from McIntosh and Drummond, and stand in skipper Matt Drummond completed the scoring on the hour. McIntosh was brought down for a penalty soon after but the less said about Drummo’s penalty the better.
Great win for Town.

It was always going to be a tricky tie and it needed a great performance from stopper Jason Chapman to ensure goals from James Miller and Shane White saw Town through to the last eight of the Cornwall Senior Cup.
Miller, in only his second appearance of the season, looked lively early on and claimed a poachers goal after 28 minutes as he followed up Dan Green’s parried shot. Sadly he fell victim of an agricultural tackle soon after and Shane White became a makeshift striker as Alan Carey struggled to juggle a threadbare squad.
Godolphin eventually beat the brilliant Chapman with an excellent free-kick after 84 mins to take the tie to extra time but Shane White saved Town’s blushes when he headed home Joe Lugg’s cross to finally see off the Division One West side.
Falmouth Town have been drawn at home to Stoke Gabriel or Penzance in the quarter finals of the Throgmorton Cup. The full draw is:
Falmouth Town v Stoke Gabriel or Penzance
Buckland Athletic v Crediton or Launceston
Liverton v Liskeard Athletic
Bodmin Town v Cullompton Rangers
Ties to be played on Wednesday the 29th of February. ( Edit: If Stoke Gabriel progress then our tie will be played on Saturday the 25th).
Update:
Penzance won at Stoke Gabriel, 2-0.
This was Town’s third consecutive away game in the JCL and they got back to winning ways after two draws. A brace from Chris Morris, and another from Luke Wort, was enough to take all three points and keep the pressure up on their title rivals.
Town boss Alan Carey said he expected a ‘positive reaction’ following the Saltash no-show and he can’t have been disappointed as Town notched up their first ever home SWPL victory against Torpoint. The match was all but won by half-time as goals by Jamie Devine, Mark Vercesi and Matt Drummond gave Falmouth a 3-0 lead at the break. Some great second half goalkeeping kept the score down as Town cruised to the three points.
